Johanna Malan ECDC: Where Learning is Fun

Categories: September 2014

Johanna Malan ECDC has been abuzz with activity. Rehearsals and outings have become a part of the campus in the last couple of weeks.Johanna Malan ECDC

On 25 August, the centre was visited by the ladies from Lombardi Lions. The children were given the opportunity to interact and learn about lions. The Lombardi Lions also donated a month’s worth of groceries and stationery which they collected from their stakeholders.

A picnic at the Bokkie Park in Boksburg on 26 August was another great outdoor experience for the children. They enjoyed feeding, touching and playing with different kinds of animals such as goats, sheep, bunnies, peacocks, chickens and ducks. Their only challenge was keeping the animals away from their food.

Next on their itinerary was a visit to the National Children’s Theatre. The staff and children experienced their first theatre production, Under the Baobab Tree.  A production, Principal Betsie Momsen described, as “an excellent show of drama and music”. An unforgettable experience they all enjoyed very much.

In between the outings, the children have been rehearsing for their school concert and our Stars for Charity gala dinner, which will take place on the 20th and 23rd September 2014, respectively.

The last couple of weeks have been great learning experiences for our children. We would like to thank everybody that has contributed towards their education.
